Your brain changes depending what you do with it. Practising alternative ways of moving or thinking causes physical changes in the brain, called neuroplasticity.
This is how therapy for FND aims to try to help.

This short film helps to understand how the brains sensory system can be like a 'sensor light' outside your house that keeps going off - even though there are no intruders.
Treating abnormal sensation and pain associated with FND may involve trying to 'turn down the volume knob' in your brain controlling that sensitivity.

This film is a great introduction to understanding migraine. Migraine is not part of FND, but very commonly experienced by patients with FND and better management of it can help with other symptoms
